Mexico Travel Buddy Search Page
Winter, 2008-2009
Lots of folks would like to travel in Mexico with another RV but sometimes it's tough to find someone headed your way. Since this site is seen by so many of our readers getting ready to head south we've decided, on a test basis, to post information that will make it a little easier to find other Mexico-bound RVers.
Here are the ground rules:
- Send us an email with the information you think a potential caravan companion needs to know. This would probably include type of rig, where you are planning to go, your schedule, your experience in traveling in Mexico, and a contact email address. Keep in mind that anyone can see this stuff on the Web, so use some discretion. We'll post the information including your email address but not names.
- Be advised that we do not know any of the folks who are likely to be listed here. It's your responsibility to get to know them and determine whether you want to travel with them.
- Contact the people listed directly via email, not through us.
- If you have a listing here and find a caravan partner please let us know so we can remove your listing.
September 19, 2008 Addition - We are planning on touring Mexico this winter in our 37ft. Holiday Rambler motorhome. We would like to cross the border at Pharr and travel to the Yucatan. We would be interested in hearing from someone who has done this trip and travelling with someone who is also interestd in seeing the Yucatan. - Ocalashaw@hotmail.com
October 1, 2008 Addition - Hello, we want to travel to Mazatlan probably January 4th or earlier. We have a Rialta Winnebago. We have never been there by RV but have read the Church book and studied where we would (Mex 15 and environs) travel and have a little Spanish. We are flexible with dates but would like to stay at a park there for 1 month. Anyone have ideas or know some people who want to go? We are early 60's and very active. Also, is it bad to go in January? I have been told the Mexican nationals use their campsites in Decmber through the 3rd or 4th of January for their holidays. Please respond to lotreetops@gmail soon as we are excited about planning this trip. Thank you very much. Barb and Lionel.
October 17, 2008 Addition - Young retired couple want to do two to three month trip in Mexico sometime in January to March 2009. Looking at the grand coast tour (down one coast to Yucatan and then up other coast). We are flexible as to start and and dates as well as trip destinations. We have done extensive RVing but not in Mexico. Contact Dennis at pitblitt@yahoo.com
October 28, 2008 Addition - My wife and I are planning a trip from Nogales to Rincon deGuayabitos leaving Vancouver B.C. January 4th approx. We figure three days to Nogales and three more to Rincon de Guayabitos (probably 7 days total). We plan to stay 6 weeks and then return. It is our first time but have close friends that have done it and will be there when we arrive. If you think you might like to tag along (as we are a bit unsure of the trip without company) and you have an RV and would like to join us, email us and we can discuss further. We are mid 50's and have a 40' 2003 diesel pusher. Hope to hear from you! phil@mmiservices.ca
December 1, 2008 Addition - I am in the planning stages, I'm not sure the exact date that I'm going to Mexico, but it would be within the next two or three months (December, January, possibly February). I'm a married mother of one, but I would be traveling alone (I would be driving a van). I would want to travel with someone with experience, as I have never been to Mexico (I speak basic Spanish, but nowhere near fluent). Not yet sure of my exact route, but I will be going to Belize (where I have lived and am very familiar with), by way of Cancun (have to pick someone up there). I'm currently in British Columbia, Canada, so I would be coming from the Northwest. I'd be pretty flexible with where we would meet in the states. I'm looking for people interested in taking a trip like this, or anyone with experience doing this, especially women who have traveled alone. I would also have space for someone wanting to come along and share gas (even if you haven't done this before) As I said, I'm in the planning stages, I would want to e-mail with you a bit, get to know you, probably meet in the states somewhere before committing. Oh, my budget would be pretty low, no 4 star hotels :). If you travel with me, we'd probably do the hostel thing. I don't know how the RV thing works, could I ask for an extra bunk? However, I would be interested in ruins, cultural events, etc if not too much dinero. Thanks for any info! Contact at myspace@theinternetgod.com
December 6, 2008 Addition - Hi, We would like to travel in Mexico this winter. Leaving MN in Jan. We can be flexible about our time schedule. We have a 2006 Fleetwood 39 ft. pusher and we tow a 4x4 Jeep. Our only RV trip in Mexico was to Baja with a Good Sam caravan. We enjoyed it but would like the freedom to stay if we wanted to spend more time. And we survived the roads without any problen. We have visited Belize, Mexico, Costa Rica and some of the islands but not in our RV. We have traveled over most of the US in our RV on all kinds of roads. We would feel more comfortable if we could find a buddy to travel with. Thank you. Contact at donl@smig.net
