This is a short route, only 66.7 miles (107.6 km). Although much of the route is on 2-lane roads, it is easy and you end the day on one of the prettiest beaches in Northwest Mexico. The route follows the newly resurfaced 2-lane road with wide shoulders from Alamos to Navajoa. There it connects with Mex 15 and continues south on the 4-lane Mex 15 for only a few miles before exiting onto the road to Huatabampo, signed as Los Mochis Libre. This route will bypass the toll booth south of Navajoa.
The highway to Huatabampo is mostly either 2-lane with very wide shoulders or 4-lane as it goes south through a couple of small towns and then through the easy to navigate streets of Huatabampo. The last 10 miles (16 km) of this route follows a 2-lane road with no shoulders to the small seaside town of Huatabampito.
